Like any hardware component, the charging ports and connectivity cables on Apple devices can develop issues over time – causing problems with powering up your iPhone, iPad or MacBook. Loose Cables or Faulty Wires

Caring for Cables
Prevent unnecessary charging issues by not leaving cables connected when fully juiced up. Gently wind cables around protective cases, avoid straining the wires at extreme angles, and periodically clean out lint from ports using wooden toothpicks. This preserves both ports and connectors – saving on avoidable charging replacement costs!
